Governor Profiles

Sarah Heslop – Head Teacher

As head teacher at Rectory Farm Primary School it is part of my job to be governor at the school. The Governing Body are here to support and challenge the school and make sure we are doing all the things required by law as well as everything we can do to improve standards and the quality of learning experiences for our children.

At Rectory Farm we are fortunate to have a new and hardworking Governing Body who have a range of skills which bring value to the school. They always ask thoughtful and challenging questions which help us to further improve the provision for our children. I am very proud to be head teacher at Rectory Farm and look forward to its further development with excitement and enthusiasm.

When I’m not being a head teacher, I am a wife to an extremely supportive and tolerant husband(!) and mum to three great children. I love to spend time with my family and friends and when I get the chance enjoy keeping fit, visiting the theatre, cooking and travel.

Jill Ramshaw - Chair of Governors

I am the Headteacher of Weston Favell CE Primary School and the Executive Headteacher of Lings Primary School. We are really proud of all that has been achieved by Northampton Primary Academy Trust since it began in 2012. Rectory Farm is well regarded within the local community, the school community has worked hard to ensure the best possible education for all of our children. I look forward to continue to work with the school as we continue our journey of school improvement.

Christine Newton – Co-opted Governor

I joined the Governing Body in 2010 and I believe that all our children deserve the best learning and teaching; I also believe that the most important people who walk through the door of Rectory Farm Primary School are the CHILDREN!

Children’s capacity to learn never ceases to amaze me! Their determination and resilience is inspiring.

Adele O'Doherty - Safeguarding Governor

I joined the governing body in September 2019 and I am delighted to be working with such a happy and productive school. I am a Deputy Head and Safeguarding Lead at Northampton High School and therefore familiar with education in a different setting.

I hope to bring my knowledge and skills to Rectory Farm School to support the wonderful work of the staff. I enjoy my visits to the school very much and have found the children to be an absolute delight to talk to and observe in their classrooms.

My own son is grown up now and I am step-mother to my husband’s two teenage sons. When not at work I enjoy cycling, exploring new countryside with my two dogs and listening to (and sometimes playing) music – most summers you will find me working my way around various folk festivals.

Teresa Clout – Parent Governor

I have recently joined the governing body (May 2020) as I would like to support Rectory Farm Primary School in empowering our children to become the best citizens they can be.

I have 17 years of experience working in education. For 7 years I worked in a primary school, first as a learning support assistant and then as a teacher. For the last 10 years I have worked in a private day nursery where I am third in charge and I lead the baby unit.

Due to my previous experience of working in a primary school I feel I have a unique understanding of the workings of a school which will help me in the role of parent governor. I am also committed, enthusiastic and looking forward to making a positive difference to young children's lives.

Lauren Green - Staff Governor

My name is Lauren and I am the staff governor. I joined Rectory Farm in April 2018. I am currently Key stage 2 and maths lead in school.

From the minute I started working at Rectory Farm, I knew it was an excellent school with a caring group of staff, who are more like a family. We are extremely lucky to have such hardworking children, who have a real thirst for knowledge.

The majority of my teaching career has been in Year 6 but this year I have gone for a change of Year 4 and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I enjoy travelling and exploring new places, reading and socialising with my friends when I can.
